For the twenty-fifth Weezer Song of the Day, I chose Yellow Camaro, which was finally released as part of Death to False Metal.  It was a bonus track on the Japanese release.  This is the first Weezer song I've featured not written by Rivers.  This is a Brian Bell composition, which was recorded by Weezer in 2002.  Brian Bell also recorded it as a Space Twins song.

I have not seen Yellow Camaro performed live.  According to Setlist.fm it has only been played live 6 times in 2002 and never in the US.  

Yellow Camaro was an early demo for album five, but did not make the cut for Make Believe.  It was written by Brian and the Space Twins version sounds quite a lot like a Foo Fighters song.  It's really reminiscent of songs from the early 1990's Southern California, faux-punk scene.

Yellow Camaro is a tribute song to the American sports car.  IROC-Z?

So why did I create this blog?  To document my Weezer Song Project.  Over the next year, I am going to attempt to listen to every...EVERY Weezer song recorded.  All the album tracks and b-sides will be easy, but there are some unreleased songs that may or not be accessible.  Hopefully, the search (and destroy) will be fun to follow.  At the moment, the list has 214 songs!  My list includes You Gave Your Love to me Softly, Longtime Sunshine, Turn Me Round, Getting Up and Leaving, Waiting on You, and Back to the Shack.  We learned early this year that a new Weezer record is on the way and we got to hear Back to the Shack twice on the Weezer Cruise II.
