For the thirty-second Weezer Song of the Day, I chose Ev'ry Nite, which is another summer songs of 2000 demo, which is still officially unreleased.
Ev'ry Nite by Weezer:
I have not seen Ev'ry Nite performed live. According to Setlist.fm it has only been played live by Weezer 2 times in 2000.
Ev'ry Night is a pretty rockin' song with Pinkerton-esque lyrics, but definitely not a Pinkerton sound. The guitar solos are solid and it has a early 90's hair metal feel to it. The lyrics detail going out to clubs and feeling like an outsider and failing at "chasin' chicks." Then Rivers sings,
"I don't say anything,
This is why I sing
To get these stupid feelings off my chest "
...Very reminiscent of Pinkerton's Harvard-era songs...
It would be great to hear Ev'ry Nite played live. I'm beginning to think a SS2K special set might work on cruise 3.0!!!

So why did I create this blog? To document my Weezer Song Project. Over the next year, I am going to attempt to listen to every...EVERY Weezer song recorded. All the album tracks and b-sides will be easy, but there are some unreleased songs that may or not be accessible. Hopefully, the search (and destroy) will be fun to follow. At the moment, the list has 214 songs! My list includes You Gave Your Love to me Softly, Longtime Sunshine, Turn Me Round, Getting Up and Leaving, Waiting on You, and Back to the Shack. We learned early this year that a new Weezer record is on the way and we got to hear Back to the Shack twice on the Weezer Cruise II.
