The Paul Loves Weezer Project - Song 26 I Don't Want Your Loving

Weezer's Spring Tour is on hold until the end of May.  Check the front page of Weezerpedia.com and Weezertix.com for the details.

Here is the Vyclone video of Surf Wax America from The Fillmore in Richmond!

If you have the opportunity to do this, you should definitely participate!

For the twenty-sixth Weezer Song of the Day, I chose I Don't Want Your Loving, which was finally released as track number two of Death to False Metal.  It was originally another of the Album 5 demos and Rivers recorded an acoustic version, which can easily be found on Youtube.  However, I will warn you...It. is. bad.  The full band recording that appears on DtFM is worth the purchase of this sub-album.

Weezer's I Don't Want Your Loving:

I have not seen I Don't Want Your Loving performed live.  According to Setlist.fm it has never been played live.

I Don't Want Your Loving was an early demo for album five, but did not make the cut for Make Believe.  The lyrics are of the same era as Beverly Hills and much improved over the acoustic demo.

I Don't Want Your Loving is a metal song with Rivers' vocals.  The first few notes are reminiscent of the early '90's.  It begins a little too Bush-y for me, but then the remainder of the song's instrumentation is Weezer-metal at it's finest.  Heavy guitar, bass and drums come in for the choruses.  There's even a quality guitar solo.  It is the most complete song on Death to False Metal.

What do you guys think?

Who wants to hear Weezer perform a metal show?

Project Info:
So why did I create this blog?  To document my Weezer Song Project.  Over the next year, I am going to attempt to listen to every...EVERY Weezer song recorded.  All the album tracks and b-sides will be easy, but there are some unreleased songs that may or not be accessible.  Hopefully, the search (and destroy) will be fun to follow.  At the moment, the list has 214 songs!  My list includes You Gave Your Love to me Softly, Longtime SunshineTurn Me Round, Getting Up and Leaving, Waiting on You, and Back to the Shack.  We learned early this year that a new Weezer record is on the way and we got to hear Back to the Shack twice on the Weezer Cruise II.

So here is the master list from Karl et al. on Weezerpedia!
I will soon publish my Google Doc Spreadsheet, which will document my progress.
Here is my Spotify playlist.

PLW Rater!  It's not quite Leonard Maltin, but it will work.
1 - Go get a beer...It's still a Weezer song, but it's a good time to rent a beer
2 - Head Bobber...The song causes at least moderate movement
3 - Rock it out...Banging of the head and the arm is in the air \m/
4 - Undone...No choice but to jump around
