Leading up to the beginning of Weezer's Spring Tour, I'm going to feature PINKERTON era songs, including all 10 songs off the record, culminating on April 1st. We have tickets to go see the Myrtle Beach House of Blues show!
10 years ago today, I met my wife in the park where we were married 4 years later. We really compliment each other beautifully (she brings the beauty and I bring the compliments!) She encourages my Weezer problem and I appreciate it. Maybe there will be a Pearl Jam Cruise for you one day!

For the fifth Weezer Song of the Day, we are staying in the Pinkerton era with I Swear It's True. It was an unreleased track until the Deluxe version of TBA was released in 2004.
There was never a video produced, so here's the version featured on Pinkerton Deluxe:

I've never seen I Swear It's True performed live. According to Setlist.fm it has only been played live once in Chicago in 1994. I hope they decide to start playing it live. I think Scott's bass along with Rivers and Brian's crunchy guitars would make it a seriously good metal jam live.
This song is pure, crunchy goodness. The guitar riff is as metal as Weezer gets. It makes me wonder how far back Rivers had been carrying it around in his head, when he was in hair metal bands.
This would have been a perfect song to update for Death to False Metal, but it wasn't in the cards, I guess.

So why did I create this blog? To document my Weezer Song Project. Over the next year, I am going to attempt to listen to every...EVERY Weezer song recorded. All the album tracks and b-sides will be easy, but there are some unreleased songs that may or not be accessible. Hopefully, the search (and destroy) will be fun to follow. At the moment, the list has 213 songs! My list includes You Gave Your Love to me Softly, Longtime Sunshine, Turn Me Round, Waiting on You, and Back to the Shack. We learned early this year that a new Weezer record is on the way and we got to hear Back to the Shack twice on the Weezer Cruise II.
